Most of the animals in The Bahamas suffer from homelessness, overpopulation and neglect.

For years, Baark! has worked towards a SOLUTION.

Together, with YOUR SUPPORT, we have one.

Baark! is going to the NEXT LEVEL

Since 2009, our team has significantly grown in experience and developed a vision. To learn about our history here is our video.

Until 2022, our efforts reached 2000-3000 cats and dogs a year with our spay and neuter program. While this model served to hold the population explosion in check, much more is needed for significant and sustainable change.

In January 2021, an animal lover and advocate, Ronald Ulrich, asked us what our VISION was for a large-scale, lasting solution to this ongoing issue.

Over a decade of experience gave us the answer – a major capital investment and change of operating procedures and expanded educational outreach.

With that, the commitment to purchasing Baark! a custom-designed 26” Mobile Clinic from La Boit (the World’s top manufacturer of mobile veterinary clinics) was made.

Dedicated Volunteers + Capital Investment = A Game Changer!

With the arrival of the mobile clinic, Baark!’s operating procedures have become much more efficient and effective.  We are SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASING the number of spay/neuter surgeries in The Bahamas to 5,000-7,000 annually. At the same time there will be a heightened focus on  educational outreach that focuses on responsible pet ownership.

THE SOLUTION

Spay, Neuter & Education is the ONLY WAY to make an impactful and lasting change.

Spay, Neuter & Education is the ONLY WAY to make an impactful and lasting change.

$ 1000  and more: The care and rescue of an unwanted animal.

$ 100 or less: The cost to neuter/spay one animal

Spaying and neutering is by far the most effective solution.

By working in our communities, we will be creating a culture of animal care and responsibility.

Importantly, as we become increasingly successful, we are creating a model for the entire region.

GOALS

First Steps: COMPLETED

Planning, preparation and fundraising so we can operate the mobile clinic operation successfully in 2022.

Going Forward: CURRENT

Working as a team to learn how to efficiently and effectively operate a mobile spay neuter clinic. The aim will be to perform 20 – 30 surgeries per day = 5,000 – 7,000 surgeries per year performed by a dedicated Baark! vet and vet technician.

An education program will operate in an ancillary tent on weekends to educate the children in the communities on responsible animal guardianship while we spay/neuter.

Within 5 years:

A transformation of the culture in The Bahamas where there are a minimum number of unwanted dogs and cats,  and a more compassionate and humane culture.

Will you be part of the Baark! five year ‘Stop the Suffering’ of Dogs & Cats in The Bahamas Campaign?
