San Salvador is a community without a resident veterinarian — on our recent visit, the Baark! team provided vital care to 136 animals. This included 121 spay/neuter surgeries (101 cats and 20 dogs), an entropion eye surgery along with wellness checkups for pets in need.
Karen and Dave, who have helped lead these clinics from the beginning, reflected on the progress they’ve witnessed:
“From our first clinic back in 2013 to our sixth clinic this October 2025, the difference on the island has been incredible. Baark! has successfully spayed and neutered hundreds of animals, and not only is the stray dog population substantially lower, but interest and requests from local residents have grown significantly. Each clinic brings us the most incredible people with the biggest hearts — and this year was no exception. We’re proof that Baark!’s work truly makes a difference!”
Their words capture the meaningful and lasting impact these clinics continue to have on San Salvador.
